It is definitely my wine go bad if not stored in a basement or cellar?
I have about 15 bottles of wine that I was 1-3 years. Most of the time the bottles are stored under my bed on the side or in a closet. I would say that the temperature was largely stored at room temperature about 10 degrees depending on the season.
Wine storage at ideal temperatures spoil later. Most wines on the shelves today is made to be consumed when purchased, not "aged" by the buyer. If you have a wine that has been maintained at a constant temperature, even room temperature can be the same as when placed under her bed. You know how I know? Open the bottle. If she is drinking, you'll know soon. If you plan to serve wine at dinner or "special friend" I buy a new bottle, just in case .... grinnnnn. There are wine coolers available today can be very cheap to be bought at Best Buy, Target, Wal Mart, etc. If you plan to keep the wine at home for any length of time, I recommend you shop at constant temperature, somewhere around 60 degrees F for reds and 45 degrees for whites and the ever popular Red Zin.
