How much do wine and spirits sales reps sell to liquor stores?
I need to know on average how many cases a liquor sales rep sells to liquor stores per sales call...I am being told an average of 4-8 cases per establishment. I dont believe it is that many...
If anyone in the industry can help that would be great!!!!
The distributorship is very small and only carries boutique brands that the big guys don't have room to push. There are no big name brands at all. The either push brands for the major dist. or have a portfolio of indie brands to sell.
4-8 cases would be from a very small vendor in the store I work at. We tend to get 75-150 cases from each major distributor each week, and we have 6 major ones, including the beer distributors. Depending on how many reps we have from each company, that pretty much averages between 25-50 cases per rep, each week. We're not a huge store, but we're not very small either.
Edit: if they are a small distributor like you said, then 4-8 cases may be average to large. It depends on if they have a product that is very popular with enough customers to move at a fast rate. We have a couple of smaller vendors that do have such products and they have to visit as often as every week to fill in one or two popular products.
Should grocery stores carry wine?
